Jimmy Santiago Baca Speaks in Silver City Thursday March 1

Award-winning poet Jimmy Santiago Baca will be reading at Light Hall on the campus of Western New Mexico University tomorrow: Thursday, March 1, 7:00pm. The event has been arranged by Dr. Heather Steinmann, assistant professor of English at the university. Steinmann also teaches poetry at the Grant County Detention Center as a volunteer with Literacy Link-Leamos. Baca, who began writing poetry while he was in prison, will be reading at the detention center later in the week.
