Josephine LoRe

This September, Silver City welcomes an extraordinary voice in contemporary poetry, as Josephine LoRe brings her deeply resonant works to an intimate gathering on September 6th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

LoRe’s poetry is a celebration of the natural world and the enduring bonds of family, woven together with a lyricism that has captivated audiences across the globe. Her journey as a poet began at a young age, with her first published work appearing in the Toronto Gladstone Library collection when she was just 12 years old. Since then, her talent has blossomed into a distinguished career, marked by her receipt of the Norma Epstein Prize for Creative Writing during her time at the University of Toronto. This accolade came for her first collection of poetry, setting her on a path that continues to inspire and move readers.

One of her most impactful pieces, “Enough,” was selected by Feed the Children, USA for a powerful video campaign aimed at raising awareness and funds. Originally published by PoetryXHunger, the poem embodies the empathy and emotional depth that defines LoRe’s work.

Silver City residents and visitors alike are invited to experience the power of Josephine LoRe’s poetry in person. The event promises not just a reading, but a connection—an opportunity to engage with the profound and beautiful in a setting as intimate as the words themselves.

Don’t miss this chance to be part of a poetic journey that speaks to the heart of what it means to be human. Join us on September 6th, and let Josephine LoRe’s words leave an indelible mark on your soul.
