Observations and Insights on the Nature of Things
This monthly column features brief essays, poems, poetic micro essays and photography by Eve West Bessier, Poet Laureate Emerita of Silver City and Grant County, New Mexico.
Generally, look for a new post every first Friday. The June post is a little early as the first Friday falls almost a week into the month.

Naturalist – Saturate – Heliocentric
It is the undulating
interwoven web
of light reflections
that holds me
transfixed
keeps me swimming
back and forth
gliding along
through an element
thicker than air
more luminous
a naturalist
in this turquoise
realm of buoyancy
exploiting
my heliocentric
desire
to subsume
this translucence
saturate my senses
with its ebullience.
