May 5, 2018 will be our region’s fifth annual community day of giving, dubbed Give Grandly. Sponsored by the Grant County Community Foundation, this 24-hour giving event supports over 50 nonprofits in Grant, Luna, Hidalgo, and Catron counties in New Mexico. Every participating organization gives of their time to make the event happen, and the Southwest Festival of the Written Word is pleased to be participating again this year!
May 5 is an excellent day to donate to the Festival, particularly because there may be matching funds available from Give Grandly’s major sponsors. To make a Give Grandly donation, visit the event website between 12:01am and 11:59pm May 5.
We will also be at the in-person Give Grandly event at the Silver City Farmer’s Market at 7th Street and Bullard, 8:30am to 2:30pm. Donations can be made in person in the form of checks or cash, and computers will also be available for online donations. The day to remember is 5/5, the fifth annual Give Grandly!
The Southwest Festival of the Written Word continues its mission to celebrate the power and beauty of the written word, embracing the rich diversity of Southwestern cultures. We are already in the midst of planning exciting social, interactive, and educational written word events for 2018 and 2019, leading up to the 2019 Festival! It has been an honor and a pleasure to work with so many talented people to highlight our region’s literary heritage, and we look forward to the future!
