During M. John Fayhee’s time as editor of the Mountain Gazette, he oversaw an annual “dog issue,” which contained a slew of photos of mountain dogs doing mountain dog things and essays about mountain dogs doing mountain dog things. The “dog issue” was always a reader favorite. Fayhee decided to aggregate the best of those photos and essays into book form. “Colorado Mountain Dogs” covers the gamut, from playing fetch, to skiing, to the heartbreak of losing one’s favorite hiking buddy.
