For the last four years of his stint as editor of the Mountain Gazette, M. John Fayhee penned a monthly column titled, “Smoke Signals,” which covered everything from a barroom competition in which participants compared their various scars to a mid-air incident (instigated by Fayhee) on a plane flying from Hong Kong to San Francisco.
“Smoke Signals” was a Colorado Book Awards Finalist.
